Use case
Bring people back to the checkout they left
Start a journey when someone leaves checkout. Argon waits a few hours, checks whether they ordered and reminds only the people who didn’t.
Uses 2 Argon modules: event tracking (Events) and marketing automation (Journeys).
Journey
Abandoned checkout
- TriggerLeft checkout
- Wait4 hours
- CheckPlaced an order since?
- SendAn email, then a text a day later
- GoalOrder placed, then they leave
Step by step
What each abandoned checkout goes through
The journey has 3 steps, built from events your site already sends. Each person moves through at their own pace.
Trigger
They leave checkout
Your site sends a
cart_abandonedevent with what was in the cart. The journey starts on that event.Runs on Events

Wait 4 hours, then check for an order
Give them time to finish on their own. Then check whether they placed an order. People who did reach the goal and leave.

Remind them by email, then SMS
Send an email with what they left behind. If they still haven’t ordered a day later, send a text to people who opted in to SMS.
Runs on Journeys. Texts respect quiet hours, and we handle STOP and HELP replies.

The goal is an order. Whenever someone places one, they leave the journey and get no more reminders from it.
Win-back
The same idea, for people who’ve gone quiet
Start the same kind of journey when someone joins a segment, like “No order in 60 days”. Segments update as events arrive, so people join the moment they qualify.
- Count and recency rules, without SQL
- People leave the segment, and the journey, when they order again
Modules
What it takes
This journey needs 2 Argon modules. The others add to it, and you can add them later without moving data.
Build this journey on your own checkout
Start free, send a cart_abandoned event from your site and set up the 3 steps. You pay for the people you message, not for seats.
